Lucklaw Hill, Balmullo

I went for a walk yesterday morning. It was beautiful weather - sunny and crisp. I took some pictures :)
Looking out my window and down the drive a way.
One of the rams.

The house in the first picture. Across the road from us.
Lucklaw Hill. The road I live on.
Holly Cottage.

Lucklaw Hill. The view from up there is amazing!

Balmullo. The village I live just outside of.

  1. ok so people in Scotland need to learn the definition of "cottage" - because Holly Cottage is no cottage, that is a mansion!!!!

also it is vital that you are taking tacky tourist pictures of everything because that is required of you from us!

Additionally, I really really am jealous and want to go visit you! Scotland is BEAUTIFUL! that is like my dream place with all the stones and hills etc! I love that you live on a lane! its so stinking cute!

FInally, THANK YOU for posting pictures because now i can imagine where you live and all the wonderful things you will do there! Love you lots and keep the pictures and stories coming!

  2. Great pictures! They give a very good feel of the place, and it looks pretty awesome. I am interested in the Goatcowsheep mixture species that you identify as a "ram"... does it "baa" or "moo" I wonder... or is it a different sound altogether? A "maa" perhaps, or a "boo"?

Nice weather for you too. It all looks magnificent in the sun and under a blue sky. Plus, I love the phone booth.

  3. Kim, it USED to be a cottage, but they've added on since then... but only a couple times. Not to worry, more tacky tourism coming up!
Richard, I've been led to believe that it is a sheep, which means that it probably "baa"s. However, I can see why you might question that. Further investigation shall follow. And yes, I was quite delighted with the phone booth.

  4. Hi Jamie: Are you falling hopelessly in love with Scotland? Already? Tell us a bit more about the place you are staying at. History etc. I am so glad we can follow your activities on this blog. Thanks.

  8. LURVE! I am positively pea green. Or jade green? Or olive green? Sea green? Perhaps the most appropriate one is shamrock green. All to say, I'm jealous.

  9. I remember watching PS I Love You, and thinking that it was so stereotypically Scottish, but this is exactly like it was in the movie :P I love all the cottages and stone walls and beautiful rolling hills. Looks like your having fun :)
